Theoretical and hands-on teaching

Introduction

The Data Analysis Core facility, together with the Digital Service Infrastructure (DSI) and the Centre d’Investigation Clinique (CIC) offers a range of courses to help researchers improve and excel in their scientific activities.

For whom, by who?

All courses are all open to all Master students, PhD candidates, Postdocs, Research Engineers, and PIs of the Paris Brain Institute. Courses are given in person, by teachers that are experts in the field. Contact details (teachers) are given for each course, in case you have specific questions.

Program

We try to cover all things bioinformatics, statistics, modelling and methodologies, as well as the supported open-source tools for data management and code development such as Git, OMERO, REDCap, and OPIDoR. Finally, we give regular courses on how to create your Data Managment Plan: an important aspect of scientific project management.

How to register

  • Before registration, your manager / PI has to be informed
  • Registration fee is 50 Euros (per course registration, non- refundable)
  • Registration opens 1 month in advance, announced via the institute’s newsweek and email
  • Registration can only be done via this form
  • A confirmation email will be sent by the teachers, but we expect registrants to plan the course in their calendar when they register (most registrations are accepted)
  • Space is limited, so we reserve the right to prioritize or reject registrations according to background, motivation or previous registrations (e.g., no-shows)
  • In case of cancellation or no-show, the manager / principal investigator is informed
  • Certification of attendance can be provided upon request
